League of Legends PvE-event “Swarm” Details: Release Window, Playable Characters, Rules, Rewards

League of Legends remains one of the most popular competitive games in the industry. Its continued success is largely due to the developers' dedication to their creation: Riot Games constantly updates the game in various ways, from adding new LoL Skins, Anima Squad 2024, to implementing Battle Passes and balance Patches.

What is LoL PvE-event Swarm?

Swarm is a new PvE mode in League of Legends where you must fend off a massive number of enemies. This genre is well-known to fans of "Bullet Hell" style games, where you use a wide arsenal of weapons and abilities to destroy everything around you.

Swarm will be part of a global event called "Operation Anima 2024," which will begin in League of Legends shortly after the end of the Hall of Legends Battle Pass.

How to Play the Swarm Event in LoL

The essence of the "Swarm" mode is to survive as long as possible in an arena filled with a massive number of enemies. The longer you fight, the stronger and more numerous the waves of enemies become. Every few waves, players will have to battle a powerful boss.

Swarm can be played solo or in co-op. If you want to challenge the hordes of enemies with friends, the maximum party size is 4 players.

During each wave, you need to collect upgrades for your auto-attacks or abilities. These upgrades will appear randomly on the map and serve as rewards for the time you've survived.

The goal of the mode is to pass all the waves of enemies and defeat the final boss – one of the spawn of the Void.

Swarm Event Champions: Playable Characters and Enemies

In the "Swarm" mode, you'll be able to choose from a selected number of champions. This is because Swarm is a themed PvE event centered around the Anima team, so the playable champions will include those receiving Anima Skins in 2024 and those who had skins in the past. There will be 9 playable characters in total, including new LoL champion Aurora.

The Anima Squad will face the spawn of the Void. Confirmed enemies include Briar, Bel'Veth, Rek'Sai, and Aatrox.

Swarm PvE-event Release Date and Rewards

The Swarm mode will be released this summer, specifically in mid-July. The release date was vaguely announced, but it is expected to be on July 17, coinciding with the release of the new champion Aurora and the end of the Hall of Legends Battle Pass.

Swarm will be part of a global event similar to those seen during Lunar Revel 2024, Hall of Legends, and others. Rewards will include emotes, profile icons, Anima Squad Orbs, and more.
