LoL Patch 14.14 Overview: Patch Notes, New Champions Release Day, PvE-mode and Event Start

In January 2024, Season 14 of League of Legends began. Over the course of six months, Riot Games consistently updated the game, releasing balance patches, temporary events, and new skins.

On July 17, the release of Patch 14.14 is expected, which will be one of the most significant updates since the start of Season 14. Besides the usual champion adjustments, Patch 14.14 will introduce Aurora, the new PvE mode "Swarm," a special event dedicated to the Anima Squad, and the Aurora skin line. In this article, we cover all the main new features of the patch that will shake up LoL.

Patch 14.14 – Aurora Release Date and New Champion Debut

The new League of Legends champion will be Aurora. This unique sorceress will be the 168th playable champion in the game. Aurora is a mage suited for solo lanes, making her most effective in the top and mid lanes. We have already discussed Aurora's abilities, release date, cost, and in-game role separately.

On July 17, Aurora will be available on live servers in all League of Legends regions.

New PvE-mode “Swarm 2024” Debuts with Patch 14.14

In Patch 14.14, Riot Games is giving a big gift to PvE fans and all players tired of SoloQ. Along with Patch 14.14, on July 17, the new PvE mode "Swarm" will start in LoL.

Swarm is a bullet-hell genre mode where you will have to fend off hordes of Voidspawn as one of the Anima Squad fighters. You can read about all playable Swarm Champions and Enemies in a separate article.

Anima Squad 2024 Skins – Main Skinline in Patch 14.14

Cosmetic item fans will enjoy Patch 14.14. It will introduce one of the largest new skin lines of 2024 – Anima Squad 2024 Skins.

The Anima Squad 2024 Skins line will feature 14 new skins, including 2 Prestige skins for Leona and Yuumi and 2 Legendary skins for Seraphine and Aatrox. Additionally, the mythic skin Battle Bunny Miss Fortune will be the reward for the new event mentioned below.

New Battle Pass and Event Introduced in Patch 14.14

Besides the new champion, Anima Squad 2024 Skins, and PvE mode, Patch 14.14 will also kick off the Anima Squad 2024 event and a new Anima Squad Event Pass.

During the Anima Squad 2024 Event, a Battle Pass with unique rewards (both paid and free) will be available for progression. You can level it up to level 50, after which the rewards will repeat. Along with the Battle Pass, Anima Squad 2024 Capsules will appear in the LoL store, and if you buy 30 of these, you will receive the Battle Bunny Miss Fortune skin.
