The first pairs of IEM Katowice Major 2019 were announced

An interesting system of seeding of participants was used in the first stage of the Major championship for the first time. ESL asked all participants what they thought about teams, which had come to the championship. Depending on their answers, the organizers have given each team its rating, which is equal to an average ratio of each teams’ answer. As a result, favorites will play against underdogs.

The first matches between teams will look in the following way:

• Fnatic vs Vici Gaming
• TYLOO vs Vitality
• Cloud9 vs Grayhound Gaming
• ENCE eSports vs Team Spirit
• G2 Esports vs Vega Squadron
• Ninjas in Pyjamas vs FURIA
• NRG Esports vs Winstrike

Intel Extreme Masters Katowice Major 2019 will be held from February 13 to March 3. Its prize pool will amount $1,000,000. The number of participants is equal to 24 teams. The team to place first will earn the main money prize in the sum of $500,000. Top eight teams will receive a “Legend” status and guarantee themselves a participation in the next Major tournament, having advanced right to the second stage, The New Legends Stage.
