Welcome back to EGamersWorld!
We continue our round-up of DPC 2023: WEU Division 1 Tour 3 and our next betting tip is on Tundra Esports vs D1 Hustlers. On the face of it, a passing game with a completely predictable result, but in reality it can be much more exciting.
Tundra Esports sincerely need a win in the third round of the DPC. Given their performance on the international stage, this may be their only option to go directly to The International 2023.
The D1 Hustlers, however, are not easy. Already in the course of this tournament, they have proved that they generally know how to play Dota 2, which means that this match will be approached by the favorites in a serious way.
We will see which team will be stronger in this clash and earn the points needed to move up the standings.
Tundra Esports
We'll open the showdown with a look at Tundra Esports' uniforms. In this match, they face us in the status of favorites.
The odds on the Tundra victory according to the bookmakers are at 1.1. The absolute gap in terms of odds is easy to explain.
We can, in principle, recall that Tundra are the reigning world champions of The International 2022, and that's already an indicator. However, you don't have to dig that far, even in this season, which is going very hard for Tundra, they are several levels above their future rival.
For starters, Tundra have twice finished in the top 4 of Western Europe. Given the overall performance of the teams in this region and the huge competitiveness here, that's an indicator.
Tundra finished top 3 in the first round and top 2 in the second. They visited the Major twice in 2023, but the trips to Lima and Berlin cannot be called successful.
At The Lima Major 2023, Tundra finished top-12 and in Berlin they finished top-6. Not the best performances, but we can see the positive dynamics.
- Tundra Esports: skiter, Nine, 33, Saksa, Sneyking.
In the third round of the DPC, Tundra seem to have completely found themselves. In the two series played, they have only 1 lost map. And those were the matches against OG (2-1) and a 2-0 blowout. The opponents were not of the first magnitude, but the result is the result.
Most popular Tundra Esports characters
The most chosen character for Tundra Esports remains Mirana at the 5th position. She has appeared 7 times and has a 71% win rate, with Dragon Knight and Pangolier each picking 5 times without losing a match.
Under the third cycle, DPC started rolling out their favourite Visage and other 'billets'. With their playstyle breaking their opponents, which they will do in this match as well.
D1 Hustlers form
We continue our analysis of the D1 Hustlers' form. In this match, they are playing in an outsider status with a pretty serious lead.
The odds of D1 Hustlers winning are negligible. Bookmakers are putting the odds on the Hustlers to win at around 6.
Reality dictates the terms and you can't argue with it. The D1 Hustlers simply have nothing to counter the Tundra in terms of performance, and therefore they are expected to be in a losing position against Long Sogneg.
Obviously, the team is capable, otherwise we wouldn't be seeing them here. Still, it takes skill to get past the second division and D1 Hustlers certainly have it.
The problem is the banal lack of experience against top teams, which Tundra Esports literally has plenty of. Nevertheless, the team, as mentioned above, is capable.
- The composition of D1 Hustlers: Shad, Adzantick, Davai Lama, Thiolicor, Xakoda .
Capable not least because of the battle roster. The players individually have experience of playing on the big stage, which is enough for local successes.
Such as at DPC 2023: WEU Upper Division Tour 3. Obviously, it's too early to judge, but Long Corner's performance wasn't bad.
In their first match of the third round, the D1 Hustlers played against Team Liquid. What should have ended in an uncontested victory for the Liquid turned into a full-fledged bo3, but in the end, Liquid's class did play a key role.
Team Liquid's most popular heroes
A couple of the most popular D2 Hustlers are Timbersaw and Rubick (4 games, 75% wins each). Next are Disruptor, Ember Spirit with 3 games and 2 wins each.
Also played with Bounty Hunter, Clockwerk, Mirana, Outworld Destroyer who have 2 wins in 2 games each.
Since D1 Hustlers are pure outsiders, their approach to the game will be appropriate. I'm talking about playing the default game without trying to "surprise" a stronger team. They are, by the way, quite good at playing with standard kicks, which we saw in the series against Liquid.
History of head-to-head encounters
Liquid and the D1 Hustlers had not previously played each other in head-to-head matches. This match is the debut face-to-face encounter between the teams.
The outcome of the match
In this encounter, I will believe in a clean win for Tundra. This will happen for several reasons.
The first, and most banal, is the overall level of execution. Everything is clear here.
The second is the mood of Tundra. They, unlike Liquid that already guaranteed their place in The International and play here roughly with one hand, haven't yet secured themselves a trip to the main event of the year, and therefore will play as tightly as possible, not giving a chance to their inexperienced opponents.
The result: a 2-0 win for Tundra.
