We continue to study the matches of The International 2022: Last Chance Qualifier. We plunge into the events of the first day of the games.
Brief educational program: Last Chance Qualifier is a tournament for 12 teams, where teams fight for a pass to the group stage. Then only 2 clubs will pass, the rest will be left with nothing.
All matches of the Last Chance Qulifier at the stage of the group stage are held in the bo2 format. Every match can be a draw.
Okay, everyone got excited. There are moments where a draw is literally impossible, and its presence will be something akin to a miracle.
On the signboard we have Virtus.pro and Wildcard Gaming. We figure out if the latter have at least a few percent to take a card.
Form Virtus.pro
Virtus.pro will play in the status of an obvious and unconditional favorite in this match. Their victory is estimated by the bookmaker at the only possible odds in such hands - 1.1.
More with such a match is not worth waiting for. There is still a chance for a slight fluctuation of the odds towards 1.2. This will only happen if VP fails in the opening.
Before Wildcard Gaming VP will meet with Infamous. The Peruvian club, as for me, is a much more difficult opponent than their North American counterparts, however, compared to VP, they are again not a competitor.
It is worth clarifying on the shore what we are saying in terms of pre-matches, and therefore the situation can be radically different from the “paper” one in reality. Logically, this can happen, but so far there have been no reasons for this.
VP this season have become the center of discussion in Eastern Europe. From the war in Ukraine, the team changed the tag, players, location, and didn’t change anything.
Whatever it was, VP remain a strong team that the rest of the Last Chance Qualfiier members will have to reckon with. They will not just approach the tournament in the status of a favorite.
The team had a good season in Eastern Europe, after which they played the PGL Arlington Major. At the largest tournament of the regular season, the team took TOP-8.
Outsiders (they are now VP) received a direct invite to the group stage based on the number of DPC points, however, as it turned out, Valve maintain their own, the only correct scoring. As a result, Fnatic got the slot, and VP, having lost the qualifiers in Eastern Europe, went to the Last Chance Qualifier.

VP have “rejuvenated” this season, which is noticeable. Headliners are the same, gpk and DM. I would not call RAMZES a “tascher” because after the twists and turns with the change of region and position, the player gave in a little, but you can’t call him weak.

In the status of an underdog, Wildcard Gaming will approach this match. The chance of success for the North American club is estimated at a factor of well over 10.
It is pointless to dispute this state of affairs before the start of the event. Perhaps the victory over the first opponent of the game day will improve the performance, but the likelihood of such an event is extremely doubtful.
Wildcard Gaming will play against Xtreme and, as you understand, a fiasco awaits them there. In this match too.
If you can talk about VP for a long time, discussing both the performance and the ups and downs in the lineup, then about Wildcard it’s either good or not at all.

I don't see the point in discussing potential hero play, possible multi-moves, and so on. VPs just have to move on the personality level of the performers and end the streak in 50 minutes.
