LCK Summer 2022 arrangörer skärper säkerhetsreglerna för att skydda spelare
/Riot Games, which is responsible for hosting LCK Summer 2022, has made changes to the security protocol at the LoL Park site. The corresponding changes were made after the detection of cases of threats against professional teams and cybersportsmen participating in the League of Legends championship.
Hello, this is the organizers of the LCK Summer 2022. Recently, we received information about threats to the personal safety of teams and players in the league. The LCK considers this absolutely unacceptable. We cannot ignore these incidents and will take all necessary action by filing reports and demanding investigations.
Given the proximity of the spectators to the stage on the site, a preventive decision was made to implement the following measures to protect the safety of players and visitors:
- Additional control at the entrance to the arena.
- Installation of security checkpoints.
- Increase in the number of specialized security personnel.
These measures may cause some inconvenience when entering the arena, but we ask for your understanding and cooperation as we strive to provide a safer and more enjoyable environment for players and visitors.
From now on, viewers will be required to go through several stages of inspection when visiting the LoL Park site located in Seoul. Also, the arena staff will check not only the tickets, but also the personal belongings of the fans. In addition, access control systems with metal detectors will soon appear in the arena, and there will be more guards in the hall itself.
It should be noted that recently some teams informed the organizers about an increase in the number of threats against them. For example, the KT Rolster team managed to receive a package with weapons inside, which was delivered to the club's training base. Also, fans managed to touch on Faker, insulting his mother on social networks. As a result, the T1 organization sued detractors.
LCK Summer 2022 runs from June 15 to August 28 in South Korea. As part of the championship, ten teams are fighting for a prize pool of $287,026, as well as a direct ticket to the 2022 World Championship.
Currently, the participants are playing at the group stage of LCK Summer 2022. According to the intermediate results, only T1 and Gen.G Esports teams guaranteed themselves a place in the championship playoffs.
