The temperature of tension in North America is heating up. The top final of the LCS Spring 2023 play-offs is about to begin.

With 4 competitors left in the chase for the champion's title, $100,000 for first place, and two trips to the Mid-Season Invitational 2023, today we talk about the main contenders for the win. Cloud9 and FlyQuest will battle it out for a place in the grand final.

The format of the match, as before, is a game of three victories (bo5). Winner goes to grand final, loser drops to bottom net where will get second chance.

Cloud9 have reached the play-offs from first place in the regular season. Cloud9 defeated Counter-Logic Gaming 3-1 in the opening game of the main stage.

FlyQuest finished the regular season in second place. The squad managed to beat 100 Thieves 3-0 on their way to the top net final.

We'll try to see which of the similarly placed teams can make it through to the LCS Spring 2023 finals, and who will try their luck in the lower reaches of the tournament.

Cloud9 Form

Let's open our match analysis with a review of Cloud9's playing form. In this match, they are seen as the favourites for the encounter.

FlyQuest Form

In the first game of the playoffs, the same Spica was basking in the glory rays. Foresters FlyQuest was named MVP for the game, rolling Wukong twice and playing 1 card for Maokai.

FlyQuest's performance

At LCS Spring 2023 the team finished second in the group stage, losing in the replay to Cloud9. The team finished 14-4 in the group stage.

The team lost to runners-up Cloud9, Evil Geniuses, Team Liquid and TSM. However, having played each of the teams twice, FlyQuest picked up one match.

The team did not sustain a clean loss in the group stage. The team did not take part in any side events.

In the first match of the playoffs, FlyQuest played against 100 Thieves. An opponent that could nominally compete with FQ proved unable to take even a map: the match ended in a 3-0 defeat in favor of FlyQuest.
