The LPL Summer 2023 split continues with regular stage matches. Week 6 confrontations and day 5 games of that very week are on the screens.

Opening the stage will be EDward Gaming and LGD Gaming. The clash seems to be one of the most uneventful of the Internationals, but there are pitfalls of its own.

The fact that LGD Gaming are on the worst list is understandable, it's not much The International heresy. EDG are another matter. The latter are looking very sluggish, which in turn adds to The International rigs match.

Let's sort out what to expect from this encounter, which team will emerge as the series winner, earn extra points and improve their position in the standings.

EDG Form

Let's open the showdown with an analysis of the EDward Gaming uniforms. In this match, the team will play as favourites.

Bookmakers are fully confident in the success of Edward Gaming. The odds on the victory of the Chinese top club are at around 1.1.

Such a figure would not be questionable, as the teams are at different levels and with different statuses. However, EDward Gaming give reason to doubt themselves. At least for LPL Summer 2023.

Back in 2021, EDG triumphed at Worlds 2021, writing their name in the annals of history as the best team in the world. Then something went wrong and EDG began to lose power, but not critically.

In 2022 EDG again made it to Worlds, but only managed to finish in the top-8. This is a strong showing for some, but not for EDG.

EDG's last result was Top 3 at LPL Spring 2023. They were one series short of winning the Mid-Season Invitational 2023.

They're a bit of a back burner at the moment, considering their status. Last season you were in the top 3 of the whole split, but today, at the end of 5 weeks, you are barely in the top 10, ranking 9 with a 6-6 statistic. This latest loss against TT is nonsense, but there you have it.

EDward Gaming's most popular champions

In the top line, Edward Gaming has a very extensive pool of champions. Fiora, Sion, Kenen and Renekton each appeared 3 times, of which the first two won 2 games each, but Kenen and Renekton took all their games. Jayce, KSante, Camile, Jax and Gnar each made 2 appearances (Jax won both games, the others were 1-1).

In the woods it's a lot less varied by metha dictation. The most pickable character is Maokai (7 games, 100% wins). Next are Vi (5 games, 80% wins) and Sejuani and Wukong (4 games, 50% wins).

The central lineup does not throw up much variety either. Same popular Azir (6 games, 50% wins), Jayce (6 games, 83% wins), Akali (5 games, 80% wins).

On the bot - Zeri (7 games, 100% wins), Lucian (4 games, 50% wins), Caitlyn (100% wins in 3 games), Jhin (3 games, 66% wins).

The situation is as follows: Nami, Ashe, Yummi - 4 games each with 2 wins for the first, 3 for the second and a perfect win rate for the third. Next are Heim (3 games, 66% wins) and Annie (3 games, 100% wins).

LGD Gaming uniforms

We continue with the analysis of LGD Gaming's form. In this match they are playing the number two.

The bookmakers have absolutely no faith in the success of the outsider. The odds for LGD Gaming to win this match are at 4.5.

It would seem that the gap is really solid, what else should we expect. Except that previously the odds on LGD would have been somewhere around 6 at least, but after the recent performances of EDG this is the situation. LGD themselves don't seem to be changing much.
