Welcome to EGamersWorld.
We have reached the end of the LoL Worlds 2024 group stage. Today, 13 October, will be the final Swiss Stage, after which we will find out the names of all participants of the Worlds 2024 play-offs.
In the last match for play-offs LoL Worlds 2024 will play Team Liquid and FlyQuest. The FlyQuest vs Liquid match is a replay of the LCS Summer 2024 final, where FlyQuest won.
This time around, the stakes have seriously increased. The winner of this match goes to the League of Legends World Championship 2024 play-offs, and the loser leaves the tournament with nothing.
Let's go.
FlyQuest uniforms
Let's open the FlyQuest vs Team Liquid match with the analysis of FlyQuest's form. In this match they play with odds to win around 1.9.
FlyQuest have been on the professional scene since 2017. Back then, they were hanging around somewhere in the middle, ranking from top 7 to top 7.
The following years were also unsuccessful: in 2018 the peak was TOP-6 at LCS Summer 2018, then TOP-4 at LCS Spring already in 2019. The turning point was the 2020 season, when FlyQuest made it to the Worlds 2020 after twice making Top 2 at home. However, it wasn't too bad to take special heights there, though: TOP-12 for a FlyQuest ranked team can be considered a success.
In the season 2021 and 2022 the team played "standard" for themselves. The average was top-6.
At LCS Spring 2023, the team finished second in the group stage, losing to Cloud9. The team won the group stage with a score of 14-4.
- FlyQuest lineup: Bwipo, Inspired, Jensen, Massu, Busio.
The team lost to the leaders of the standings Cloud9, Evil Geniuses, Team Liquid and TSM. However, having played each of the teams twice, FlyQuest took one match each.
The team had no net defeats in the group stage. The team did not participate in any third-party events.
In the first match of the play-offs FlyQuest played with 100 Thieves. The opponent, who nominally could compete with FQ, was unable to take even a map: the match ended with a 3-0 defeat in favour of FlyQuest. After a successful Long Sogpeg, FlyQuest made it to the Top 3 before losing to Golden Guardians 2-3 in the finals match, thus being left out of Worlds 2023.
In 2024, FlyQuest made it to the LCS Top 2 and eventually made it to MSI 2024. Mid-Season Invitational (MSI) 2024 started off with a very surprising 2-1 win over PSG Talon. In the match to qualify for the Bracket Stage FlyQuest expectedly Ledge or T1 with a score of 0-2. And then there was a rematch of PSG Talon and FlyQuest left MSI 2024 on the 10th line.
At LCS Summer 2024 the team took the top 3 with the score 5-2. In the play-offs FlyQuest defeated NRG 3-1 and then very unexpectedly beat C9 3-1. By reaching the final of the top flight, they guaranteed themselves an appearance at Worlds 2024. The cherry on the cake was winning the grand final.
At Worlds 2024 they debuted with a class win over GAM Esports. In the second match, they lost to DPlus KIA. In the next series, they defeated PSG Talon. In a 2-1 set play-offs match, FlyQuest played against HLE, where they unironically should have closed 2-0, but lost 1-2.

Team Liquid's form
We continue the analysis of the match Liquid vs FlyQuest with the analysis of Team Liquid's form. In this match, they play the second number with odds to win around 1.9, which indicates a completely equal match.
While in 2022 the team was consistently in the top of the local league, finishing top-1 at LCS Lock In 2022, and then top-3 and top-4 at LCS Spring 2022 and LCS Summer 2022 respectively, things have changed in 2023. At LCS Spring 2023, the team finished Top 8, which is clearly not the level of a top club.
- Team Liquid lineup: Impact, UmTi, APA, Yeon, CoreJJ.
After the unsuccessful LCS Spring, the team changed the player of the central league. The newcomer was APA, who previously played for Team Liquid Challengers.
Liquid managed to qualify for the LCS Summer 2023 play-offs. They won the group with a score of 10-8, thus securing their place in the top play-offs.
However, they didn't last long there. In the first match Liquid lost to NRG, who are surprising this season. In the first match of the lower play-offs Liquid outplayed 100 Thieves 3-1 and here they are.
Liquid's next opponent in the play-offs was Dignitas. The latter were no competition for Liquid and the match ended 3-0 in favour of Liquid.
Next was a match against Golden Guardians. Being an outsider on paper, Liquid managed to overcome themselves and closed the series with a score of 3-2. A very nervous series, where after two taken cards Liquid gave up 2, but in the end they still finished what they started.
In the match for the grand final Team Liquid played with NRG. Quite unexpectedly, Liquid lost, and NRG subsequently became LCS Summer 2023 champions.
TL later attended Worlds 2023, where they failed to make it to the group stages, eventually finishing in the top 16. After failing at Worlds 2023, Liquid returned to their home harbour and confidently finished top-1 at LCS Spring 2024. In the first round of the Bracket Stage they played against Top Esports and expectedly Ledgeili 0-3 without any competition.
At MSI 2024 Liquid finished in the top 6, which is a good result for a team from the LCS.
Liquid also played at Esports World Cup 2024, where they got through the first round, surprising quite a lot. Moreover, they managed to take the map from T1, which is already an indicator.
At Worlds 2024, Team Liquid made it to the second quota from North America, losing in the grand finals to FlyQuest.
At League of Legends World Championship 2024, Liquid Long Team Liquid started with a match against LNG Esports, where they lost without much of a chance. Then there was a match against Weibo Gaming and again a defeat. They managed to recover in the match against paiN Gaming, where Liquid closed with a score of 2-0. In the 1-2 basket match they beat GAM Esports with a score of 2-1.

History of head-to-head meetings between Liquid and FlyQuest
Earlier the teams played each other in LCS 2024. In 5 matches the score is 3-2 in favour of Liquid.
Predicted result of the match FlyQuest - Liquid at LoL World Championship 2024
In this match I expect about equal play from the two teams. Just like last year, NA region will get a slot in the play-offs and, as far as I'm concerned, FlyQuest will look more logical there. They have really prepared hard for Worlds and the match against HLE is proof of that. As for Liquid, I don't see the game.
Bottom line: FlyQuest wins.
