EDward Gaming avgår VALORANT Champions 2022

The EDward Gaming team lost to Team Liquid with a score of 0:2, as a result of which they left VALORANT Champions 2022. The debut of the Chinese team at the international tournament was not the most successful. In turn, Team Liquid will continue to fight in Group A, trying their luck with Paper Rex for the right to reach the playoffs.

The second confrontation of the gaming day started on the Bind map, which became the choice of the Chinese team. However, already in the first half, the audience did not see any intrigue as such, since the "liquid" ones showed excellent defense and secured a two-fold advantage in the score - 8:4. After the side switch, the players of EDward Gaming could not wake up, thus allowing Team Liquid to quickly take the lead in the series — 13:5.

Then the teams moved to the Breeze map, which became the choice of Team Liquid. At the same time, there was much more struggle here, since the teams showed an equal first half, albeit with a minimal advantage in favor of the “liquid” — 7:5. After the side switch, the Chinese team slightly seized the initiative, managing to turn the card into overtime. And yet, the class of Team Liquid players allowed them to avoid the desider, and at the same time knock EDward Gaming out of the championship — 14:12.

Note that according to the results of the group stage, the Leviatán, DRX and OpTic Gaming teams have already guaranteed themselves participation in the VALORANT Champions 2022 playoffs.

VALORANT Champions 2022 takes place from August 31 to September 18 in Istanbul at the Volkswagen Arena. As part of the championship, sixteen teams from Europe, North and South America, Brazil, South Korea, Japan, China and Southeast Asia are fighting for a total prize pool of $1,000,000.
