
Fnatic besegrar NRG och når steg 2 av Budapest Major 2025
Fnatic overcame NRG in a tense BO3 series to secure their spot in the second stage of the StarLadder Budapest Major 2025 with a 3-1 record. Despite a crushing loss on Mirage, the team managed to turn the match around on Inferno and Dust2, while the highest rating of the series surprisingly went to NRG’s br0.
Mirage (13:3 NRG)
Fnatic completely collapsed on their own map pick. On the T side, they claimed only three rounds, while NRG put together an eight-round winning streak in the first half. After the switch, fnatic offered little resistance, and NRG confidently closed the map 13:3.
Inferno (13:10 fnatic)
On NRG’s pick, fnatic looked significantly better. The team regrouped and delivered a much stronger showing. Their active defensive side allowed them to secure the majority of rounds in the first half. After the switch, NRG managed to tie the score at 10:10, but fnatic found the strength to push through and closed Inferno 13:10.
Dust2 (9:13 fnatic)
On the decisive Dust2, fnatic controlled the pace of the game. Their T side gave them a comfortable 8:4 lead at halftime. Even though NRG equalized the score 8:8 after switching to offense, fnatic didn’t let them seize momentum and finished the map 13:9.
Match MVP
Despite the loss, it was an NRG player who earned the highest rating. br0 finished the match with a 1.33 rating, doing everything he could to keep his team in the series.
Fnatic continue their surprising run and advance to Stage 2 with a 3-1 scoreline. NRG remain in the tournament but will have to fight in the 2-2 bracket. StarLadder Budapest Major Stage 1 runs from 24 to 27 November, where 16 teams compete for 8 spots in the second stage.
