FaZe besegrar RED Canids och överlever på Budapest Major 2025
FaZe pulled off a hard-fought victory over RED Canids in a tense BO3 series, winning 2:1 and keeping their hopes of reaching the second stage of the StarLadder Budapest Major 2025 alive. Despite a rough start on Mirage and a dramatic battle on Nuke, the team regrouped on the decisive Inferno, with frozen emerging as the standout performer of the match.
Mirage (13:7 RED Canids)
FaZe picked Mirage hoping for a comfortable start, but RED Canids had other plans. The Brazilian squad surprised not only the fans but also FaZe, putting together a seven-round defensive streak and closing the first half 9:3. In the second half, FaZe attempted to close the gap, but history finished the job and sealed Mirage 13:7 for RED Canids.
Nuke (19:17 FaZe)
Nuke turned out to be a major challenge for FaZe. The first half was very balanced, with the teams constantly trading rounds. RED Canids started the second half strongly, pulling ahead 9:6. They even reached match point and were just two rounds away from victory, but FaZe managed to take two crucial rounds to force overtime—where they narrowly clinched a 19:17 win.
Inferno (5:13 FaZe)
On the deciding Inferno, RED Canids looked exhausted. They managed to pick up a few rounds on the CT side in the first half, but once FaZe switched to offense, they didn’t allow the Brazilians any chance to recover, closing the map 13:5.
Match MVP
The hero of this intense BO3 was frozen, who delivered 89.1 ADR, Swing +4.6% and a 1.47 rating. His consistent opening kills gave FaZe key advantages throughout the match.
Despite the difficult victory, FaZe stay in the tournament and will continue their fight in the 2-2 bracket. RED Canids showcased strong form and proved they can compete with top teams but unfortunately end their run in Budapest, finishing 12th–14th. StarLadder Budapest Major Stage 1 runs from 24 to 27 November, featuring 16 teams competing for 8 spots in the next stage.
