T1 Besegra vilken legend som helst och förläng deras 12-åriga obesegrade svit mot LPL i Worlds
Today’s match between T1 and Anyone’s Legend decided who would advance to the Worlds 2025 semifinals. Earlier, I wrote that the Hanwha Life Esports vs Gen.G series was the best match of the tournament — and likely would remain so. I was wrong. If you missed this one live, go back and watch it. The match was absolutely incredible, and words can hardly do it justice. On one side, we had Anyone’s Legend, who had an outstanding season, performed brilliantly in the Swiss Stage, and truly became the hope of the LPL region. On the other side stood T1 — a team whose recent results, both in the regular season and in the Swiss Stage, were far from impressive. Yet, for the past 12 years, T1 had never lost to an LPL team. So today, there was a chance for a double piece of history to be made.
T1 confidently took the first map, playing without mistakes and making all the right decisions. After losing the opening game, Anyone’s Legend woke up and started playing their own style — taking map control, pressuring the bot lane, and forcing favorable teamfights. Every player gave it their all, exceeding 100%. They not only tied the score but also went up 2-1 in the series. A huge part of that success came from their top laner, Flandre, who gave everything he had across all five games, doing the impossible to keep his team in contention.
The third game was extremely close, and it looked like T1 wouldn’t be able to come back. Casters were already discussing how two LPL teams might make it to the semifinals — guaranteeing at least one LPL representative in the finals. But T1, as always, managed to surprise the entire world.
The last two maps were nothing short of spectacular, especially the fifth. Despite being behind in kills, T1 completely controlled the map and secured every objective, which became the decisive factor in this series. Anyone’s Legend tried to contest or initiate around objectives, but T1 consistently outplayed them, stacking stats and buffs that perfectly suited their composition. The clip below shows the final fight of Game 5 — pay attention to T1’s buffs, and you’ll see exactly where the key to their victory lay.
As a result, T1 advance to the semifinals of Worlds 2025, where they will face Top Esports. Meanwhile, Anyone’s Legend end their run at Worlds 2025, finishing in 5th–8th place.
Reminder: The Worlds 2025 Knockout Stage runs from October 28 to November 2, with the Grand Final taking place on November 9. All matches are played in a Best-of-Five format using the Fearless Draft system. The bracket follows a Single Elimination format — meaning teams that lose are immediately eliminated from the tournament.
